SANGALA AND KENYATA TOP TARGETS Latest leaks from higher circles - TopicsExpress

SANGALA AND KENYATA TOP TARGETS Latest leaks from higher circles reveal that Sangala and Kenyata are among the top two hostels one of which may be withdrawn to be given to ladies. Recently, the Dean of Students revealed at a meeting with a delegation of hall representatives that there are strong plans to assign one male-occupied hostel to ladies and relocate some male students from campus to the extension. The Dean, however, did not specify which hostel was being targeted. However, recent highly founded rumours from the higher offices indicate that there is a proposal to grab one of either Sangala, Kenyata or Chilembwe. "There are considerations being made about these three hostels with several factors about each of them being considered, and hopefully, a decision should be reached soon," said our anonymous source. According to the source, Sangala is the most likely because it has a large "common room" that could accommodate a group of students just by providing moveable beds in addition to those accommodated in the double-occupant rooms. Kenyata is also another likely option because it was once for girls and was assigned to boys just to serve an urgent situation then, with the understanding that it would later be returned. "But many argue that Kenyata is so much surrounded by male-occupied hostels hence it may not be ideal," further revealed our source. Another option that has also emerged is Chilembwe which, according to the source, has been earmarked because of its closeness to Umodzi, the biggest (female-occupied) hostel on campus. The revelation of the news that the administration intends to snatch one hostel from boys aroused emotional reactions with many male students vowing not to give way. The decision, however, is yet to be made official as discussions are said to be ongoing in the administration. At the beginning of the 2011-2012 academic year male students violently chased ladies out of Kenyata hostel after the administration had assigned it to ladies.
