THESE POOR DOGS ARE VICTIMS. https://youtube/watch?v=9du4SzTaENg&feature=youtu.be URGENT: The “Buddy’s Friends” Project PLEASE READ BEFORE WATCHING THE VIDEO POSTED BELOW. Location: Santa Fe, Texas Contact: [email protected] ... Triumphant Tails, Inc. was contacted recently by a volunteer of a former rescue organization, begging for our help. Dozens of canines (to the tune of more than a hundred) have been left in the hands of landlords which are NOT rescuers themselves. The dogs have been languishing in crates and kennels without medical care, without exercise, and without human companionship – conditions which existed prior to their original rescuer walking out the door. Repeatedly, I tried to offer guidance and suggestions to her (the volunteer), encouraging her to reach out to other rescue groups to spearhead the efforts to get the dogs to safety. Time and again, she claimed to be hitting brick walls. Help simply wasn’t coming. Ron and I finally relented and agreed to visit the facility to see, for ourselves, what was transpiring. We met with the owners of the building, as well as the dogs that are housed there. Overwhelmed doesn’t begin to describe the way we felt that day – and have felt every day since then. Many of the dogs have medical conditions which have gone on for far too long. We have taken a few of the dogs to Angel Animal Hospital already for immediate assessment and care (at our expense) with more scheduled to be taken this coming week. We are only addressing the more urgent matters. We are NOT getting all of the dogs on the premises vaccinated and altered. We simply do not have the funds, or the time, to do that so late in the game – nor is the facility equipped to offer a sanitary environment within which the dogs can recover post-op. Because the dogs are lacking their rabies vaccines and spays/neuters they will be released to rescue groups only at this time (501c3 approved or pending). The landlords have decided to sell the building. They will be closing their doors effective January 10, 2015. They do not have the means, experience, time or desire to run a rescue facility. Quite simply, they need help from confirmed rescue organizations willing and able to pull any of these dogs into their program. We will assist out-of-state rescues as we can. The facility is not set up to handle many “hands-on” volunteers. There are employees on-site each day to care for the animals. Donations of mid-grade dog food (wet and dry) are always needed and greatly appreciated. Please call in your donation to the Texas City Feed Store at 409-945-7731. Blankets are also needed (no comforters with “stuffing” please!). There are bags of laundry needing to be washed so that they can be re-used. If anyone has time to help with that, please let us know. Anyone wishing to make a tax-deductible donation to help with veterinary care and supplies may do so via Paypal to [email protected] or by calling in a donation to Angel Animal Hospital directly at 713-944-2424. Please mention that your donation is for “Buddy’s Friends”. Please note that Triumphant Tails, Inc. is merely offering SUPPORT to the owners of the facility known as Buddy’s Friends. We are NOT taking over the facility, nor are we making any final decisions where the fate of the animals is concerned. We are doing our best to provide supplies, veterinary care, guidance, and any other help that is needed as we are able to offer it. We hope that you will join us in our efforts. It is my sincerest hope that this video, and the updates/photos to come, will spawn a nationwide rescue effort to get these animals, at long last, the relief, love and care that they deserve. God Bless you all, in advance, for your support… and for the much-needed prayers for the animals. PLEASE NOTE: The video is quite lengthy and may be a bit slow to load.
