SAP the company that Karen and I work for has done excellent work with the Ernie Els Foundation to raise funds for Autism research. We have extended that program to positive hiring practices. We all complain about where we work once in a while but I am very proud of many things SAP does for the world. Employees With Autism WCSH (NBC) USA | 31.03.2014 SAP just launched a program called Autism At Work, which specifically trains people with autism for jobs with the company. One of the reasons why were looking at people in the spectrum is precisely because they bring abilities that we may not necessarily have in that different perspective, says Jose Velasco . With the first group of employees in the program preparing for their first day at SAP, the company is also turning to outside experts for advice. The challenge for a lot of people is dealing with social interaction. Theyre just as smart, or smarter than other people in the workforce, but they may not enjoy the eye contact, they may not enjoy the face to face interaction, explains Dr. Rosalind Picard, MIT Director of Autism Technology.
