SAPD Officers Persistence and Technology Come Through for Senior - TopicsExpress

SAPD Officers Persistence and Technology Come Through for Senior Citizen I just wanted to tell you what Officer C. Pena did for my family last night. Our elderly and forgetful aunt went missing yesterday afternoon. After going to her home yesterday evening to discover she had not come back from the dealership appointment she went to, we called the police to report her missing, as she does not ever drive at night. Officer Pena came to take the report. He carefully listened to myself and her sister, and asked all the right questions. He took all his information back to his car, and he was able to have her cellular phone pinged. The ping was far, he said, and he asked if we could wait at the house in case she came home. I took my other elderly aunt back to her house and I went back to wait. After a while, there was a knock at the door. It was Officer Pena. He explained to me that he had gone down to Lake Calaveras where the ping had located her phone, and even with a helicopter searching, was unable to locate her. There was another ping sent out, and it was up by Fort Sam Houston. He informed me that it was time to put out the Amber Alert, and that all officers would be on the lookout for her. At about four a.m. this morning, our aunt was found in Comal County, driving in her car. She had been driving for over 12 hours. I just want to say that Officer Pena was clearly there to help. He was so caring and respectful, and obviously took his duty very seriously. I am so grateful that he was the one sent to handle our report, and I am so encouraged and impressed that SAPD has such capable and accountable officers to serve and protect the citizens of San Antonio. Thank you, Officer Pena and SAPD, for helping our dear aunt get safely home!
