SARA Organization of Violence Against Women Article 1 - Name: Sarah Organization of Violence Against Women . Article 2: - The organization was founded in Qamishlo on 01/07/2013, it takes treaties, conventions and the Universal Declaration of Violence Against Women as a reference for them. - It is a Womens socio-civic organization against violence in all its forms and struggling all forms of discrimination against women and accept the membership of all women of all denominations, races and nationalities . Article 3: Objectives and Principles 1- opposes all forms of violence and discrimination practices toward women. 2- Protects and advocates women victims of violence. 3- opposes anything that would disrespect the dignity of women or taking her pride and self-confidence. 4- calls for gender equality . 5- works to educate women and raise their intellectual level against violence and encourages them to tell us about their problems if they exposed to violence. 6- coordinates with womens organizations with local and international civil society organizations. 7- seeks to find jobs for women who are oppressed and develop their professional skills to receive adequate income and financial resource. 8- Investigates through the media to monitor the cases of violence to attract the public opinion to expose the abuses that women are suffered by. 9- Acknowledges women of their rights and provides them with legal advice. 10- provide assistance to victims of forced marriage, death threats and counseling them if necessary. 11- Carry out propaganda, demonstrations and sit-ins to expose the wrong behaviors practice in society against women . Article 4: Structure of the organization Conference : It holds once a year and decide to endorse the goals of the organization and its work programs. And the extended administrative body is elected /the Council /. And the modification or change of the rules of procedure are happened. Also it may be announced for the opening of branches of the organization inside or outside of the Canton. The Bodies - Expanded administrative board/ the council/ consists of 12 women members, it considers the requests for membership, defines the work of the committees and working on the functioning of the organization scheme. They are meeting once every month to assess the monthly reports of the committees to give it to the administrative body so they put the monthly plans. - The supreme administrative body / the coordinator / consists of three women members, they are elected from among the members of the Expanded administrative board / the Council /so it will be as coordinator between other bodies and following-up the activities of the organization and be a reference to the administration board and committees. - Committees: Each committee consists of three members at a minimum, each committee holds its monthly meeting to assess their activities and raise its reports monthly to the the Expanded administrative board “/ the Council /, and the committees are as follows: 1- Legal Committee: To provide legal advice to violence women and raise their requests to the courts and following-up it, or resolved it a conciliation matter. 2- Media Commission: highlight the work of the organization and its activities and expose the abuses of women and making realistic studies which is based on Statistics in collaboration with other womens organizations. - Archiving the activities of the organization - Issuing annual publications in the field of womens rights. - carrying out social awareness among men and women alike - Monitoring cases of violence and do a questionnaire and statistics at intervals, semi-annual or as necessary. - Presenting proposals according to the results. 3- Relations Committee: a- Work to strengthen relations with international and civilian womens organizations of violence against women. b- Make and strengthen the relationships. c- Hold conventions and conclude contracts. d- Work on to definite the organization in internal and external forums. 4- Finance Committee: It is the general secretary of the financial fund and is also working on activating projects of anti-unemployment, the development of personal skills and leveraging the women economically which is at the same time the Commission of relief and service. 5- Following-up the Aggressive Affairs committee: a- Do a research on the social side of the case. b- Provide psychological support. c- Convert the case to the concerned committee if it is necessary. Article 5: Membership: Every woman exceeded eighteen years of age and accept the goals of the organization can submit by a written request includes / name and address, date of registration, e-mail and phone number / and accepting or rejecting the membership application by the Board of the organization by sending a reply within a period not exceeding ten days. - Each member is restricted to the membership and organizational tasks. member tasks: - The member has the right to elect and be elected and take advantage of the possibilities offered by the organization. - Attend monthly meetings to offer opinions, criticism and suggestions - Each member can do activity within one or more committees between the committees of the Organization. - stopping the membership in cases of breach of behavioral to principles and objectives of the organization and abusing a member of organization. Also, in the case of frequent absences to attend the monthly meeting of the committees three times in a row without providing any justification, or six times non-consecutive in one year without providing justifications. The member that has been stopped has the right to present a written request to re-join the organization and the members should study the demand and respond to it within a month from the date of its submission.
