SASCO rejects all links to Aluta – UWC Vote SASCO 2014/15 The South African Students Congress (SASCO) rejects wholeheartedly the formation of the renegade gang calling itself ‘Aluta’. We note that the breakaway party is not about the coming revolution or prioritising student struggles as many of its supporters have been led to believe. We register to all students that this Aluta is nothing more than being about power, resources, social dominance and looting Aluta UWC is a group of friends, united under no political direction or objective. They are obsessed with remaining in the SRC/CHC positions which they got via SASCOs 100% win last year. To this Individualistic group; Suits, bashes and the SRC car are the only way for them to gain relevance and social recognition. SASCO without hesitation registers to UWC students that following this excuse of a Non-partisan organisation is equal to supporting individuals in their cheap ploy to hold onto power. We urge all students to reject this social party of friends who continue wanting to remain unaccountable while masquerading their personal ambitions and vendettas to genuine student battles. We calls on all students to continue entrusting their votes with the one tried and tested organisation which for over 23 years has championed student struggles. We further rally all students to unite under the banner of SASCO by making sure that the organisation, NOT individuals, returns to its rightful position at the centre.
