SATURDAY, 10 AUGUST 2013 11:45 Daly And Law Return WRITTEN BY ANDREW DICKSON Daly And Law Return ALLY McCOIST makes three changes to the side which lost at Forfar last week for this afternoon’s League One opener at home to Brechin City. As expected, Nicky Law and Jon Daly return to the fold as the two trialists the manager is permitted to play. Emilson Cribari also starts after overcoming a groin problem and he replaces suspended captain Lee McCulloch. David Templeton also drops out with a hamstring strain and Andy Mitchell is omitted from the squad altogether. Lee Wallace sports the skipper’s armband in McCulloch’s absence and Scott Gallacher is in goals with Alan Smith on the bench as McCoist has chosen not to use Cammy Bell. Sebastien Faure joins Cribari at the heart of the defence, with fit-again Chris Hegarty once again deployed at right-back. Ian Black joins Law in central midfield in a 4-4-1-1 shape, with Andy Little and Lewis Macleod either side of them. Daly spearheads the attack, with Robbie Crawford set to play in just behind him in a supporting role. With this being Gers’ first game in an SPFL fixture, new rules allow them to list seven substitutes rather than five as they did last term. That means Luca Gasparotto, Kyle McAusland, Barrie McKay, Fraser Aird and Andy Murdoch are listed as replacements. There’s a place among them too for Dean Shiels, who McCoist has decided is fit enough to join the squad after returning to full training recently.
