SATURDAY, AUGUST 10: - BUDDY HOLLY CENTER DIANA DOPSON “ILLUMINANCE” GALLERY TALK 3:00 – 5:00 PM Free The Buddy Holly Center is thrilled to announce a Gallery Talk with Juror Diana Dopson for our latest exhibit, Illuminance. Ms. Dopson chose “Experiencing Place” as this year’s theme. Artists submitted images that are emotional and atmospheric, conveying a sense of what makes a place special, magical or extraordinary. Diana Dopson, is an artist and art historian from Austin, Texas. Her work as an artist primarily explores the nature of vision, ways of seeing, interconnectedness of living things, the collecting and cataloguing of nature and alternating visions of wild and cultivated landscapes. Ms. Dopson received two undergraduate degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, her M.F.A. in photography and her M.A. in art history from the University of Oregon, with a concentration in Italian Renaissance and Baroque architecture. In 1998, she completed the Corso Internazionale sull’Architettura di Andrea Palladio in Vicenza, Italy, in which she photographed every building by Palladio in the Veneto.
