**SATURDAY EVENING FORECAST DISCUSSION** It was an interesting day Saturday as we saw some sun, some spotty rain showers and even some small hail in some spots. The small hail formed because of the very cold air we have ~3,000-5,000ft above the surface causing some of the raindrops to freeze before falling. There wasn’t a threat for severe weather, but it shows just how cool the air is aloft. That colder air will settle into the lower elevations overnight as temperatures drop in the 30s for most as long as the clouds thin out enough. We should see more in the way of sunshine for Sunday and no threat for rain. Temperatures will be held down though in the 50s for highs during the afternoon. We should see temperatures closer to average Monday-Wednesday with a mix of sun and clouds before another strong cold front moves through on Thursday. Showers and thunderstorms do look likely by the afternoon on Thursday, but the intensity of these are not definitive at this point. Once this front moves through, the end of the week and weekend look quieter. – WATE Ken Weathers
