SAVE THE DATE! Hawaii Catholic Conference & Hawaii Family Forum presents: COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK TRAINING Come and learn about the role of Christians in the public arena, be around other Catholics who share your values and see how you can plug into the community to make a difference. Everyone is invited to attend this workshop. Free educational materials will be provided. Place: Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church Date: Wednesday, October 9, 2013 Time: 7pm-Community Action Network Training Join us at the 530pm Novena and 6pm Mass as we pray for Catholic voices to be United in Advocacy. Speakers: Eva Andrade, Hawaii Family Forum Executive Director, will show us why the silence of Christians in Hawaii has had a devastating effect on Hawaii and the future of our children in regards to LIFE, FAMILY & RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. Jim Hochberg, Local Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) attorney, will provide an overview on what individuals, pastors and churches can and cannot do to participate in the public policy arena. Walter Yoshimitsu, Executive Director of the Hawaii Catholic Conference, will define how Catholics form consciences for Faithful Citizenship. As the Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us, "It is necessary that all participate, according to his position and role, in promoting the common good." (1913-1915)
