SAVE THE RUPEE CAMPAIGN WHAT CAN “WE-THE PEOPLE OF INDIA” - TopicsExpress

SAVE THE RUPEE CAMPAIGN WHAT CAN “WE-THE PEOPLE OF INDIA” DO TO SALVAGE THE TUMBLING RUPEE “Rupee hits an all-time low!!” That’s what is reverberating everywhere in the media almost recurrently. We all were a mute witness to the POUND hitting a “century” recently. SEBI and RBI – the premier financial institutions have promised to take up a number of remedial measures to save our currency. There is no doubt that corruption and impractical “vote-attracting bills and policies” formulated and passed by our Netas are some of the reasons for the downfall of the Rupee. But constantly cursing them won’t be of any help to the nation. We, the people can contribute a lot to rescue our currency. Yes!! We definitely can follow “very simple steps”, which can not only be cooperative for the appreciation of the Rupee but can also make an enormous difference to the Indian economy. Let’s take a quick look what can be done by “We-The people”. For the sake of India’s future don’t merely read and forget but “BE A PART OF IT”. 1. RESTRICT THE USE OF PETROLEUM: India is importing huge amount of fuel from the Middle East. Remember, every drop of the fuel we are using is costing the nation dearly. Billions are spent daily to buy petroleum. Naturally the currency is flowing out of the country. So before starting a car, just think if a bike can be used in that place. Before starting the bike, just think if the public transport can used. Best of all just think of taking a walk or a bicycle ride for very short distances which not only prevents pollution but also keeps us fit. If one can save half a litre at least daily from now on, and the same can be followed by 20 crore population, 10 crore litres of petroleum can be saved which can prevent the flow of Rs.6 billion every day into some other country. Just imagine how much can be saved in a year by us. Consequently, inflation reduces bringing the prices of day to day goods to normal. 2. BUY PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED BY INDIAN COMPANIES ONLY More than 30,000 crores worth of Rupee is being siphoned off from our country daily by the use of products manufactured by foreign companies. Many of us have a feeling that only foreign products are superior and Indian ones are mediocre. A number of Indian industries are hence shutting down adding to the woes of Indian economy. We will then have no choice but to buy foreign products. The foreign companies are taking this as an advantage hence making mammoth profits. We all know what mutilation “ONE East India Company” caused to our splendid economy. The harsh truth is that there is “A PLETHORA OF EAST INDIA COMPANIES” now in India. Just imagine the damage!! So in a nutshell -“Every Indian product we buy can make a big difference and can save our economy”. Think over and make a list of products by foreign companies and avoid buying them. 3. AVOID BUYING GOLD THIS YEAR AS FAR AS POSSIBLE As we all know, a lot of money is spent on gold in India. India is one of the biggest importers of gold in the world market. India imports 7.5b$ worth of gold every month. But if we avoid buying it, this would certainly bring down the demand for the Gold imports in India. Thus prices will fall automatically. More gold can hence be bought later at a cheaper rate thus increasing the currency reserves of India. So “We must stop buying gold at least for a period of 5 months from now on to rescue the rupee”. 4. POSTPONE FOREIGN TRIPS AND AVOID GOING ABROAD FOR STUDIES It’s certainly not the right time for a foreign trip. In case if planned just think over. One has to pay good amount of Rupees to buy a dollar. So one can’t shop more and has to pay excess for every product or even the college fee. This in turn flushes away money from our country to another and reduces our reserves. Finally our economy will be in grave danger. Therefore its better to stay in India for a period of at least 6 months from now. 5. AVOID CURRENCY TRADING FOR THE PURPOSE OF INVESTMENT Taking the advantage of bearish rupee people start investing in the currency futures and options and start making money for their own greed. As a responsible citizen of India one must desist from doing this kind of a business until the Rupee value substantially escalates. Falling rupee can impact our day to day life to the maximum extent. It can hit our pockets directly and make the management of daily expenses much more challenging. It can also cause the loan rates to shoot up. Cost of import increases thus taking inflation to a bad level and causes economic and industrial slowdown. Cost of education will also escalate. So in a few words 1. Save as much fuel as possible by limiting the use of personal vehicles especially cars when travelling alone and making the best use of the public transport. 2. Buy SWADESHI products as far as possible. 3. Avoid buying gold for the next 5 months or so. 4. Postpone the higher studies and foreign trips as it will be costly. 5. Avoid taking advantage of the rupee fall for the purpose of investment. Hence let’s all be a part of this programme not merely by sharing it on the wall but by actively participating and making sure that the following steps will be implemented in our daily life. “Revolution” has to start from an individual. It is said that “LITTLE DROPS OF WATER MAKE A MIGHTY OCEAN, LITTLE GRAINS OF SAND MAKE A PLEASANT LAND”. We have a marvelous opportunity to save our country and ourselves from the impending precarious future. Save Rupee!! Save India. PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD. YOU CAN ADD ANYTHING TO IT AND SHARE IT ON YOUR WALL OR ANYWHERE ELSE.
