SAY NO TO THE AMNESTY fOR THE OMBATSE CULT MEMBERS IN NASSARAWA STATE: REGISTER YOUR PROTEST NOW! It was reported over the media that the on-going trial of the Ombatse leader was two days back stalled at the court where he is being prosecuted for the refusal of the cult leader to turn up! It was also reported that the lawyer to the alleged killer of our 74 security men explained his clients absence in court to be as a result of the non fulfilment of the conditions/deal they reached on his client with the government which, among other things include: 1. Provision of adequate security for his client throughout the trial. 2. An understanding that his client must not be arrested before and after the trial etc. This is it, people-different laws to different people! That was what apartheid was all about! Is Nigeria retrogressing to a lawless state where criminals who deny security to their victims consider security protection more than the patriotic citizens? As if this is not enough insult to our common sensibilities, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nassarawa State, in Abuja, said his government is considering an amnesty programme for the members of Ombatse Cult, that same Eggon group widely believed to have been behind various atrocities in Nassarawa State, killing and maiming innocent citizens of the State for reasons that are better imagine than explained! Who is afraid of the revelation that may come out of the trial of this Ombatse Leader? We believe there is more to it than meet the ordinary eye and the Nassarawa State Governor is guilty as charge! We also demand justice for the slain security operatives killed during the crisis and equity for their families! Say No To This Unwarranted Glorification Of Crime And Criminals In Nigeria!
