SAY YES TO GOD!:”So we make it our goal to please Him”(2 Corinthians 5:9). The greatest hindrance to Gods blessings in our life is not others, it is ourselves - our self will, stubborn pride, and personal ambition. We cannot fulfill God’s purposes for our life while focusing on our own plans. If God is going to do His deepest work in us, it will begin with this. So give it all to God our past regrets, our present problems, our future ambitions, our fears, dreams, weaknesses, habits, hurts, and hang-ups. Put Jesus Christ in the drivers seat of our life and take our handsoff the steering wheel . We need not be afraid; nothing under His control will be out of control. Mastered by Christ, we can handle anything. We will be like Paul, I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me, that is, I am self-sufficient in Christs sufficiency. SIX DAYS BEFORE THE ARRIVAL OF POPE FRANCIS IN MANILA: POPE FRANCIS THANK YOU SA MALASAKIT #POPETYSM : “Protektahan ang mga inosente at damayan ang mga nagdurusa.” – Pope Francis, the “Pope for Everyone” – Ang Pastol sa Panibagong Panahon.” BLESS THE INTERRUPTIONS: “The Lord . . .makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever” (Psalm 33:10-11). If our life is anything like my friend’s, Baste, the Dream Dad. It’s pretty well planned out. He has a calendar which reminds him of appointments, meetings, and other “to-do” items. Inevitably, interruptions change his day dramatically, and while they can be frustrating, they also can be productive. Some of the great advances in God’s plans have come through interruptions to the normal routine. Take Mary for example. An angel interrupted her life with the announcement that she would have a son named Jesus. Since she was a virgin and engaged to be married, this news was undoubtedly shocking and deeply troubling (Luke 1:26-31). And Saul the Jewish zealot, who persecuted early Christians, was on his way to Damascus to arrest more followers of “the Way” when he was blinded by Jesus Himself (Acts 9:1-9). This life changing interruption had huge implications for the future of Christianity. And so as the life of the Night Stalker himself enjoying a well-paid job as Procurement Manager of a construction company in Saudi Arabia. A rather good life was interrupted when a stroke hit him to retirement that eventually changed his life leading him to accept a call to embark on a “treasure hunt” in the Holy Bible and provide a contribution for the “new evangelization” effort in the social media through the BIBLIARASAL PINOY (BETHEL”) Ministry, which is now two years old with his self now retired from career professional work. The psalmist reminds us that the Lord can make “the plans of the people of no effect” (Psalm 33:10). Yet all too often, we respond to the interruptions of our well-ordered lives with attitudes like frustration, irritation, fear, and doubt. But in spite of the interruption – a “cross” in the life of the Night Stalker – life is graciously going in peace – a miracle from the life’s interruption of the Night Stalker and his family, especially the professional careers of his children, where God’s benevolent supply of strength and energy shifted to graciously level-boost the children’s careers every now and then, that in no time in near future would equal or even surpass the earning capacity of the Night Stalker combined, then with his self, life transformed after interruption, committed faithfully, without doubt, in servitude of the Lord Jesus Christ through BIBLIARASAL PINOY (“BETHEL”) Ministry’s new evangelization efforts fulfilling a purpose of God in his life. God’s surprises in our day are full of new opportunities for our life as well as for the life of the people around us as “for everything and every one” are involved interconnected in God’s plan. Let’s welcome them as a new “to- do list” from Him. The Night Stalker thanks our wonderful God for the interruption and the new opportunities – the miracle it brought along. BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (9 January 2015 Friday) “TAKE UP OUR OWN CROSSES AND FOLLOW THE FOOTSTEPS OF JESUS” Today, January 9, 2015, we celebrate the feast of the Black Nazarene of Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. Amen. –Straight From The Heart, Fr. Mario Jose C. Ladra BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (9 January 2015 Friday) “WE CAN NOW APPROACH GOD ANYTIME” Unlike the Old Testament priests who had to spend hours preparing to meet Him, we can now approach God anytime. The Bible says, “Now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God – all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God.” Friendship with God is only possible only with the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus , “All this is done by God, who trough Christ changed us from enemies into his friends.” The old hymn says , “What a friend we have in Jesus,” but actually, God wants to invite us to enjoy friendship and fellowship with all three persons of the Trinity: our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.” - The Purpose Driven Life – Rick Warren/ BIBRIARASAL PINOY (“BETHEL”), The Night Stalker PRAY for guidance from the Holy Spirit. Prayer: Father, speak to me. I wish to receive your Word into my heart. Send forth your spirit to me. Reveal your face to me today. Amen. Alleluia, alleluia! The Word of God is living and effective; discerning reflections and thoughts of the heart. Alleluia, alleluia! BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (9 January 2015 Friday) “WHOEVER POSSESSES THE SON HAS LIFE. . .” 1ST READING: 1 JOHN 5:5-13 “Beloved, Who indeed is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? This is the one who came through water and blood, Jesus Christ, not just by water alone, but by water and blood. The Spirit is the one that testifies, and the Spirit is truth. So there are three that testify, the Spirit, the water and the blood, and the three are of one accord. If we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is surely greater. Now the testimony of God is this, that he has testified on behalf of his Son. Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son. Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possesses the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you so that you may know that you have eternal life, you who believe in name of the Son of God.” REFLECTIONS- “As we can read newspapers or articles in magazines or books, we can sometimes wonder about the lies propagated in the name of truth. God is the only person who has been faithful to His promises throughout history. Yet so often we place our trust in the promises of human beings who often fail to deliver on them. And then, the more perverse reality is, that we are willing to trust them again after they have proven to be unreliable. Yes, we will always have to place a degree of trust in other people, but why are we so unwilling to place our trust in God? Why do so many popular writers dismiss faith in God as nonsense? We may not know the answer to this question other than to say that it is their choice.” BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (9 January 2015 Friday) “. . .WITH THE BEST OF WHEAT HE FILLS YOU. . .” PSALM 147 :12-20 Praise the Lord, Jerusalem. “Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion. For he has strengthened the bars of your gates; he has blessed your children within you. He has granted peace in your borders; with the best of wheat he fills you. He sends forth his command to the earth, swiftly runs his word! He has proclaimed his word to Jacob, his statutes and his ordinances to Israel. He has not done thus for any other nation; his ordinances he has not made known to them. Alleluia!” BIBLIARASAL –“BETHEL” (9 January 2015 Friday) “LORD, IF YOU WISH YOU CAN MAKE ME CLEAN. JESUS STRETCHED OUT HIS HAND, TOUCHED HIM AND SAID, I DO WILL IT. BE MADE CLEAN. . .” GOSPEL LUKE 5:12-16 “It happened that there was a man full of leprosy in one of the towns where he was; and when he saw Jesus, he fell prostrate, pleaded with him and said, “Lord, if you wish you can make me clean.”Jesus stretched out his hand, touched him and said, I do will it. Be made clean.” And the leprosy left him immediately. Then he ordered him not to tell anyone, but “Go show yourself to the priest and offer yourself for cleansing what Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them.” The report about him spread all the more, and great crowds assembled to listen to him and to be cured of their ailments, but he would withdraw to deserted places to pray.” .” REFLECTIONS- “Miracles and healings are merely by-products of Jesus ministry. His focus is to proclaim the Good News of our salvation through faith in what He will do on the cross. That is why we must be careful not to preach “sugar-coated” Gospel that fails to focus upon the call to take up our own cross and follow in the footsteps of Jesus. It is not easy to be a disciple of Jesus, so any preacher who says otherwise is either a liar or who does not know what he is talking about. Look at Jesus in the Garden of Gethsamane, the many thousands who have been martyred for their faith in Christ and the lives of asceticism lived by millions more!” READ THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: God’s special verse/thought for me today- MATTHEW 25-28 REFLECTIONS- THINK: “Why are we so unwilling to place our trust in God?” PRAY AGAIN-Thank the Lord for His message to you and pray that you may be able to live it out in your daily life. PRAYER: Father, I thank you. Your word is manna to my spirit. May your Word that I received today transform my soul. Make me more like you. Amen. COMPANION – A Catholic Scripture Diary/Bro. Mastered by Christ, you can handle anything. You will be like Paul, “I am ready for anything and equal to anything through him who infuses inner strength into me , that is, I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency.” Paul’s moment of surrender occurred on the Damascus road after he was knocked down by a blinding light. For others, God gets our attention with less drastic methods. Regardless, surrendering is not just a one-time event. Paul said, “I die daily.” There is a moment of surrender and the practice of surrender which is moment-by-moment and lifelong. The problem with living sacrifice is that it can crawl off the altar, so you may have to surrender your life fifty times a day. You must make it a daily habit. Jesus said, “If people want to follow me, they must give up the things they want. They must be willing to give up their lives daily to follow me.” - The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren ”ALL FOR THE GREATER GLORY OF GOD!
