SCAM ALERT: From the Bullhead City Police Department A BHC man received a phone call from a person claiming to be from a company that was affiliated with Mohave Electric Cooperative. They said they would upgrade air conditioning units or other items in the house at no cost, to make it more energy-efficient. MEC says this is a scam and that it is not sponsoring such a program. The man was skeptical and believed it to be a scam, so he did not become a victim. Police offered these tips * Be sure to always verify the business/company who are claiming to be from an organization that contacted YOU FIRST. * If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. * Be wary of people contacting you via phone, mail or email asking for something in return.
