SCAM ALERT: Local residents are receiving a message from the FB account names Sharon with no last name. Sharon claims to have won a sweepstakes or lottery from FB. Her prize is $100,000.00. She says that while she was going over paperwork with the FB claim agent, she saw your name on the winners list and messaged you so yall can celebrate together. Of course, no one told you that you are a winner. Once you advise her of this, she will tell you to contact her FB claim agent, Bob Arnie Williams. She is kind enough to give you a link to his FB page. Of course, it is very official looking and he is please to tell you that you are a winner. All he needs is your banking information so he can transfer the money to your account.... and it will go downhill quickly from there. There may be mal-ware associated with the Bob Arnie Williams link also. This is all a scam. Please report her and Bob Arnie Williams to FB every time you get a message from them - and remember two things: 1. If you didnt register to win, you did not win. 2. Never give your banking information out to a stranger. If youve already been victimized by this scam, please contact your bank immediately and take the necessary steps to protect your accounts.
