SCAM ALERT * SCAM ALERT Beware of people calling you posing to be a representative from a company called Global/Globus International (calling from a number that shows as 0050004) alerting you to a possible vulnerability with your computer or Windows system. They ask you to go to your computer and turn it on and press a combination of keys. They tell you there is a technology working in the background and that your information is at risk. The call it an infection, and they say that only this procedure can fix it. They tell you a local technician cannot fix it and they try to coerce you into doing the steps to fix it whether you feel comfortable with doing it or not. The procedure ultimately allows them to gain remote access to your computer, which THEN makes your system vulnerable. ADVISORY: Gather as much information as you can. Do not complete the steps and report it to your units security person or CID. Or simply hang up the phone.
