SCAM, RIPOFF, ILLEGAL Hertz Heathrow rented me a vehicle at the start of March. After doubling the price because of a vehicle upgrade (by choice) I set off for 5 days and planned to return the vehicle to Exeter airport where I requested that I could pay in cash. This was agreed upon by the agent at Heathrow. At the point of departure he told me that I should fill vehicle with petrol unless it was completely empty because they would charge me a full tank. So I filled the car with gas and returned it to Exeter airport, their was no one at the airport to pay in cash for the rental or to confirm the car was full. So I drove to the office in Exeter and they told me to return the car to the airport and leave it there. So now I have left the country with hundreds of pound sterling I wished to use before departing. A week later when I check my Visa statement they have charged me $180 in fuel charges ??????? I have now been in contact with customer service and they say I agreed to pay that in gasoline at the point of rental. Who would agree to pay $180 in has for a Mazda 6?????? And then go fill the car right before drop off. The customer service has been shocking from start on this rental, STAY AWAY FROM HERTZ
