SCOTTISH LAND & ESTATES WELCOMES NEW SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT ‘FOCUS YEARS’ FOLLOWING an announcement today (Tuesday) on the next themes to feature in the Scottish Government’s focus years programme, Scottish Land & Estates’ Director of Operations and Communications Paul Wakefield said: “We were delighted to learn of today’s Scottish Government announcement on future themed years. Landowners have played an active and enthusiastic role in previous themed years and we are now closely involved with the Year of Natural Scotland, which helped inspire our Magnificent7 social media campaign. “Our members have land-based businesses which often include elements that fit naturally with the themes set down including tourism, architecture, food and drink, not to mention a wealth of wildlife and built or natural heritage attractions. Scottish Land & Estates represents over 2,500 of Scotland’s landowners and this figure includes a wide range of people; some with farm steadings, stately homes, farm shops, some with outdoor sporting and leisure attractions and others who look after some of the finest art and architecture in the country. “Our members look forward with relish to taking part in each of the new themed years and incorporating the core messages into our work supporting Scotland’s rural economy and communities”.
