SDS Summer Sports Camp 2014 in Inverclyde supported by WheelPower introduced participants aged 10-18 years old with sensory or physical impairments in a variety of sports. 40 youngsters engaged in a 12 different sports over three days, sports included archery, wheelchair tennis, judo, boccia, athletics, wheelchair basketball amongst others. The participants had the chance to meet Jo Butterfield, seated thrower and Inter Spinal Unit Games 2011 attendee, who is taking part in the IPC European Athletics Championship this week. Mark from Scottish Disability Sport said “Jo is competing at the IPC European Championships in Swansea and will have 40 new supporters cheering her on after her superb workshop. Scottish Disability Sport are indebted to WheelPower for their significant support to the Summer Camp as it provides a fundamental opportunity for the youngsters to further experience the positive physical, mental and social benefits of sport and physical activity and to support lifelong participation. “
