SEAS THE DAY (as in seize the day) opened OCEAN, a collaboration event, held in Mactan days ago as called by anvironmentalist Ana Oposa of a marine advocacy group, Shake Shelter . Her story of protecting Mother Earth was just one of the myriad food-for-the-heart efforts to say, stop whining and get into action. After seeing a most visual way to make bamboo and rattan (which are homegrown and available in Lanao) transform in Cebu by hand-weaving to sturdy furniture now seen in Hollywood sets or European 5 star hotels , I am back in the bondooks of Marawi inspired to see bamboo (work) by TESDA get further. Doing a countdown to June 5 World Environment Day by involving the students in the eco , 3 R (reuse, reduce, recycle) and solid waste management advocacy. Today we are at one of the oldest schools here located in far off Lumbatan, Lanao Agriculture College for the Youth Leadership Summit (hosted by 51st Battalion) .
