SECRETS? WHAT SECRETS? Someone once said that whatever - TopicsExpress

SECRETS? WHAT SECRETS? Someone once said that whatever we say, whatever HAS been said is still out there in the ether; famous speeches by historical figures, arguments we had as children, Patrick Henrys impassioned cry for freedom and independence, Crazy Horses dying utterances after being bayonetted, the sweet nothings you whispered in the ear of your first girlfr/boyfriend---its still out there, floating around as particals of energy..attached to our hair, clinging to our clothes in a static energy of brilliance, passion, blandness, and ignorance. It makes sense to me. After all, everything is energy. Nothing is actually destroyed--things only change form. From the grunts of dinosaurs to the waxing of our great orators--they all coexist in an atmosphere of silent vibration. On another level, a secret is no longer a secret once the information is revealed to another entity. If you dont want private and personal information to potentially be revealed to a cast of thousands, you should err on the side of caution and keep it to yourself. So when you are on that bus/subway, at that party or super-hip club...lean over to that friend/associate and hit your conspiratorial/conversational mark--that hypothetical distance between yourself and the person you wish to confide in--in which only THEY might hear what you have to say; assume that you could potentially be whispering to 20 others! Some things we say in confidence return to us weeks later distorted, augmented, cannibalized--completely and totally unrecognizable from what YOU had said. Hey! It happens all the time. Up, up and away.. circling the earth forever! A bird..a plane? No. A lie you might have told your mother. Caught on that hairbrush along with the many lost strands of hair--promises you made that you never intended to keep. The things we say will outlive us all; we wade through them on our way to work and church. We inhale the words of heroes and fools, and sample immortality with every intake of air that crosses our tastebuds.
