SECTION LEADER A vacancy for a Section Leader exists within the Shubombo Agricultural Management Services at Coopersdal Farm. Objective: The day to day cane production with the focus on ensuring good quality cane in terms of tons per ha as well as RV. Minimum qualifications needed is a Diploma in Agriculture (plant production) with relevant experience. A B Tech in Agriculture, B Agric or B.Sc in Agronomy including relevant experience will be an added advantage. The incumbent will be responsible for 500ha under cane. Reporting to the Farm Manager, the successful candidates will be expected to carry out, but not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities: Responsibilities ü Management of subordinates – effective organizational structure and employee relations. ü Management of Production resources which includes amongst others, water, pest and disease as well as field data management ü Cane production which includes amongst others irrigation, conservation and usage of soil, weed, diseases and pesticides control, fertilizer application and harvesting ü All administrative functions related to cane production. ü Ensure compliance to the SLA by Service Providers in terms of activities including but not limited to cane harvest, weed control, mechanical and transport in area of responsibility and report deviations to Line Manager ü Ensuring the realization of Company Strategy in terms of both tons per ha and RV ü Financial management in own area of responsibility which includes, budgets, assets as well as cost management. ü Ensure compliance in terms of SHEQ in line with Company policy.
