SEED of the WEEK (SOW) “Those who pant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seeds, but they sing as they return with the harvest.” (Psalm 126:6, 7 NIV). SOWING AND REAPING The early part of our life is regarded as the period of planting while the latter part of life is the period of harvest. Planting is what everyone does on a daily basis as we go about our duties in the office, places of employment, market places, classrooms and all forms of interpersonal relationships. Something gets to be planted by our action, reactions or in-actions. A seed is sown daily by our attitude, what we do or what we don’t do. As the farmer plants seeds on the farm, so also the market woman, the teacher in the classroom and the manager in the office plants seeds by virtue of attitude, what is said and not said. Eventually, good or bad, they all germinate. Our daily labor is described as planting in tears. God recognizes the efforts we all make daily in order to excel, the labor over the children, the demand of office work, the challenges of business environment, emotional trauma and financial pressure that we often go through just to stay afloat. God see them all. However, the good news for those of us called by His name is that, all the labor shall be rewarded. The planting process is assured by God of a bountiful harvest at the long run. As you go in this new week, be comforted in that God is with you, even in the valley of “shadow of death”.
