SEEK DAILY, Monday, July 7 Hebrews 9:1-10 REGULATIONS FOR THE INTERIM Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. Hebrews 9:1, NIV The period between the fall of man and the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the time referred to as “the interim” in the salvation story. Our passage depicts a tabernacle with two rooms, comprising the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place. Verses 2 to 5 list the elements found in each of the rooms, as regulations that man must strictly follow to be saved at the time. This was the period when atonement was made for human sins by the imperfect high priest “to offer both gifts and sacrifices” (Hebrews 8:3). The good news is that the resurrection of Jesus Christ has completely atoned for the sins of humankind. The blood of Christ made our eternal covenant with God possible. This covenant is everlasting and Heavenly reign with God is its reward. Christ is the Sacrificial Lamb and perfect High Priest who bridges the gap between God and those who have accepted Him as their Saviour and Lord. Friend, are you saved? If yes, then the grace of God will sustain you through the journey of faith. If no, key into that grace today for the ‘interim’ is no longer necessary for salvation. • Birthday Blessing: “At that time I will deal with all who oppressed you…” – Zephaniah 3:19.
