SEEK DAILY (NBC) Saturday, February 1 John 3:14-20 LOVE IN TRUTH AND ACTION … Let us not love in word, neither in tongue but in deed and in truth.John 3:18, NRSV One critical thing about love is that it is sacrificial. Contrarily though, we do not often see it that way. We tend to love those who are kind to us; appreciate us; give us gifts; assist or listen to us while we find it difficult to love those who disagree with us; criticize us or those who refuse to help us. We fail to remember that those who love and give us gifts actually have to overlook our weaknesses before they could do so. We show to the world that we resemble our Master, who laid down His life for us while we were yet sinners, as we lay down our lives for others. Loving, in deed and truth, means loving the unlovable to the extent of sacrificing for them. It also means enduring mockery and reproach from the world. This is what we find in Christ, and if we will be like Him, His love must be seen in us. If we do less, we will be misrepresenting Him on earth. What position are you holding? Humble yourself, forget your position; level of education; influence, and serve your fellows in love.
