SEEK DAILY (NBC) Saturday, January 24 James 5:1-12 THE PROPHET’S SUFFERING AND PATIENCE Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord…. James 5:7-8 NKJV Patience is the state of endurance under difficult circumstances. It can also mean persevering in the face of delay or provocation without acting in a negative way; or exhibiting forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with long-term difficulties. It is also used to refer to the character trait of being steadfast. Some believers get easily discouraged when they feel that God is slow in coming to their aid. We are used to fast foods and fast lanes in life. However, some things cannot be achieved in a hurry. We can learn from the farmer who waits for the precious fruit of the earth; he waits patiently for it until it receives the early and the latter rain. Farmers are conscious of the early rain before planting. Without the rain, the seed planted will die. No one knows when the rain will fall. So, the farmer cannot but wait and be patient. We cannot give God a deadline when Jesus must return to the earth. He asked us to wait and be patient. No one knows when and how his or her prayers will be answered. We must ask God and then wait for His response. Remember, “It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD” (Lamentation 3:26). • Birthday Blessing: But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength…. Isaiah 40:31 Read Bible Through Passage: Ex. 6, 7; Matt. 16 Never cut a tree down in the winter time.…Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come. – Robert H.
