SEEK DAILY (NBC)Wednesday, March 5Matthew 12:15-23IS THIS THE SON OF DAVID?All the people were astonished and said, ‘Could this be the son of David?’ Matthew 12:23, NIVJesus’ withdrawal from people and His injunction to them to be silent about His healing power were a fulfilment of Isaiah’s prophecy (Isaiah 42:4). His life, ministry, and destiny were in accordance with the Scriptures. He did nothing outside God’s mandate. No wonder, God declared Him as beloved (v. 18). People were astonished at Him and found it difficult to believe He was the same son of David. The challenge for you today is that if your life will ever astonish people, you must live like Jesus who withdrew from the crowd. You have to seek to fulfil your destiny in line with the Scriptures. Beloved, you are not living for fun. You are here to fulfil God’s mandate for your life. When the crowd saw Jesus Christ fulfilling God’s mandate for His life, they marvelled and asked: “Is this the Son of David” (v. 23)?
