SEEK DAILY (NIGERIAN BAPTIST CONVENTION) Monday, August 12 Psalm 96:1-9 CELEBRATING GOD’S GREATNESS “Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD all the earth ... Declare His glory among the nations; his marvelous deeds among all peoples.” Psalms 96:1-3, NIV God is splendid, we can never reach the end of probing His nature, or of discovering in Him that for which we need to praise Him. Praise is addressed to God or His “name.” God’s praise should come from those who are filled with a sense of joy in who God is, and in how deeply He is committed to His people. Praise exalts the Lord. It is in praise that the believer implicitly acknowledges all creatures’ dependence on God and His greatness and goodness. Are you among those who offer praise from the depth of their hearts to show gratitude to God for His redemptive work? If not, start today by proclaiming His greatness to everyone around you. The more you celebrate the greatness of God, the more He will do great things in your life. Tell someone about the goodness and greatness of God in your life and to humankind today. That may be what he/she needs to believe God. Prayer Point: Thank God for His greatness in your life. Read Bible Through Passage: Ps. 38-42; Rom. 8:18-39
