Revelation 7:17, RSV Our place in eternity should be our utmost concern in life. The book of Revelation pointed to what would happen after this life. All the joy and sorrows of this world are but for a very short time, compared to life in eternity. There is only one person who decides what can happen to you in eternity, and that is Christ. Those who endure the suffering and difficulties of this life without compromising their faith; those who do not stain their garments of righteousness with sin will be guided to a place of eternal rest and satisfaction in eternity. Christ wants you to be among those He would guide to the stream of water. There, Jesus’ guide will not be a temporary experience of satisfaction, which can be easily overtaken by another enemy’s attack. Satan and his forces of evil will not be there. Why would you not aspire and resolve today to live a righteous life by deciding not to compromise your faith in Christ no matter the situation?
