SEEK DAILY, Tuesday, August 12 Jeremiah 31:1-6 FINDING GRACE IN THE WILDERNESS The people who survive the sword will find favour in the desert.... Jeremiah 31:2, NIV The Israelites, while in captivity, seemed to have been cut off from their covenant relationship with God. However, God promised to restore them and deal with their enemies. The highlight of His promises was when he reminded them of how they found grace in the wilderness en-route Canaan, when the Lord brought their fathers out of Egypt. The wilderness experiences include desolation, confusion and overwhelming insecurity. Meanwhile, grace is God’s unmerited favour. So, when the people found grace in the wilderness, it simply implies that they found the favour of God. Beloved, more than anything in life, you need His grace. Grace is God’s ability at work. If you find grace, you will find mercy and be favoured. Grace is the hallmark of the Christian walk. You cannot live life successfully without the grace of God. Paul attested to this when he said, “…I am what I am by the grace of God….” The bottom line is, your real need in this life is not money or connection; it is not even good certificates. It is the grace of God! If you will survive in this wilderness of life, you must be an object of His grace and mercy. Therefore, ask for His grace and intervention in your wilderness experience. When grace comes, your wilderness will be a fruitful place. • Birthday Blessing: “The Lord shall preserve you from all evil: He shall preserve your soul.” Psalm 121:7 Read Bible Through Passage: Psalm 38-42; Romans 8:18-39 Our tears often blur our sight in difficult situations and prevent us from seeing clearly what God has in store for us in such situations. - Anonymous ************************ Meditations for the Day 12Aug2014 BIBLE VERSE FOR THE DAY “And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:25-27 NKJV). ******************* QUOTE FOR THE DAY Discipline is tough – and something we may try to avoid. But in sports and in life, short-term pain is often the only path to long-term gain. - Bill Crowder
