SEEKING ADVICE ON ELECTRICAL: I currently have a D5100R (hood), three HC600s (trunk), a 170 amp alternator (is a step above an eBay, but needs to be rebuilt), XS Big 3, and XS 0 gauge throughout the car. That all is powering my HDC3 18 and Q1-2200 @ .5 ohm. As long as Im in the 2k RPM range, music stays around 14v and notes/burps will take it down to about 12.8-13.2v range. The plan is to upgrade amp/sub(s), but the smart thing to do first is beef up the electrical. Long story short, I was given some Amazon cash and can basically get a D3400 for free. The goal is to have electrical that can demo around 6k rms for a good amount of time before dropping into the time to charge voltage. My question is, after I get rid of the HC600s, should I get the D3400 for free and buy one more D3400, or should I spend a little bit more and get two D3100s? Remember, I have the D5100R under the hood and Ill be adding more runs of 0 gauge, but wont rebuild the alternator for another six to eight months.
