SENILITY WAITS FOR NONE: The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, - TopicsExpress

SENILITY WAITS FOR NONE: The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, says, in no country do Members of Parliament scream at the Prime Minister that he is a thief. He goes on to say that he is treated with greater respect at the international level than at home. It is time Mr. Singh calls it a day. Age and tide wait for no man. If no country treats its Prime Minister the way India does, it is because no country has so obvious a dummy prime minister as India now has. No Parliamentary democracy has a Prime Minister as blissfully unaware of the “collective responsibility” of a government. “I don’t know” and “I am not responsible” type of statements are not acceptable defence from a CEO, be it of a company at an AGM or prime minister in a Parliamentary democracy. In ANY team, responsibility is COLLECTIVE, NOT individual. As for being treated with greater respect at the international level than at home, Mr. Singh ought to know that it is DIPLOMACY. When I was a journalist, I – Saby Ganguly – was once picked from the Doha airport (in Qatar) in a ROLLS ROYCE right from the airport tarmac. And when I returned to my office in Dubai a few days later, my boss at the time was annoyed with me for something. I don’t remember telling the boss, look, this is no way to treat me… don’t you know I was treated with so much respect by the authorities in Qatar?! Hey, now I am approaching retirement age! Should I continue working… or retire before I too start talking like our Hon’ble Prime Minister?!!
