► SENIOR CREATIVE MEDIA OFFICER The Coffee Industry Support Project (CISP) works with key coffee industry stakeholders to help them better address the economic and social wellbeing of women coffee farmers in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. CARE PNG is recruiting one Senior Creative Media Officer for the project. The Senior Creative Media Officer will be responsible for producing a weekly radio broadcast targeting smallholder coffee farming families that cover topics such as: coffee husbandry practices, coffee marketing, personal financial management, and working together as a family. This work is undertaken primarily in Goroka, but will require some travel to rural, remote areas to record interviews with farmers. Key responsibilities: • Research radio topics to ensure technical accuracy and quality • Write scripts for radio programs • Conduct & record interviews with technical experts (e.g. extension agents) and smallholder farmers • Record episodes in-studio • Work with project partners to identify a schedule of appropriate topics for radio show • Engage partners in the development of radio content, e.g. conduct interviews with partners • Provide clear explanations of the Coffee Industry Support Project and CARE’s work in PNG to partners, communities and other stakeholders • Assist in documenting project activities, processes, emerging models, case studies, and lessons learned • Assist in the collection and coordination of information for donor reports, presentations, and other documentation purposes Key selection criteria: • Minimum of Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field • 3-5 years experience working in communications or social media, with some experience in community development preferred • Demonstrated experience recording radio or other audio content, including: conducting interviews, using sound editing software, and using recording equipment • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines • Strong commitment to gender equity and women’s empowerment • Some background knowledge of agriculture, especially coffee farming, is preferable • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint • Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations as required For more information, request a copy of the full Position Description and the Terms of Reference via the below details or phone: 532 2766, mobile 71968447 To apply, provide statements addressing the selection criteria in a letter of application and also include un updated CV (without certificates attached) and details of 3 referees including current (or most recent) supervisor.
