SERATA UNIKA GĦAL KULL MIN IĦOBB IL-MUŻIKA PJANTISTIKA. TITILFUHIEX...!!! This piano and electronic music concert–lecture by pianist Tricia Dawn Williams presents a selection of musical works . The programme is compiled in collaboration with Giorgio Nottoli from the music conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy. The event will illustrate the different methods and techniques that composers have applied to transform the sound of perhaps the most representative instrument of classical music through the electronic medium. Giorgio Nottoli will guide the audience through the recital to understand the scientific implications of each musical work. He will support the project as a live-electronics performer as well as a sound engineer. Programme: The programme will include‘Risonante Notturno’ (2006) a live electronics piece by Giorgio Nottoli, a composition for piano and computer processed audio called ‘Traces of Spirit Whispers’ (2003) by Steve Antosca, and live electronic compositions entitled ‘Half [Way] (1974) by Domenico De Simone and ‘Aitsi’ by Giacinto Scelsi. Date: This Friday 27 September Time: Repeat performances will be held at 7pm, 8.30pm and 10pm. Entrance is free. Tickets need not be booked. Venue: St James Cavalier The Science in the City festival is supported by the EU FP7 Programme and the Malta Arts Fund. The event is coordinated by the University of Malta, in partnership with the Chamber of Scientists, the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sports, European Commission Representation in Malta, Valletta Local Council, MEUSAC, Malta Council for Science and Technology, Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, PBS, Where’s Everybody, Valletta 2018 Foundation, Notte Bianca, iCreatemotion, Microsoft Innovation Centre, Vodafone, St James Cavalier and RIDT.
