SERMON | 16112014 | 08.30AM GOD, WHO IS HE? (PART 3) Of His Word and Ways Revelations 13 : 7 - 9 Extract from last week... These operations of God are summarily a dying and resurrection process, based on the principles of His word. Those, who love their lives more, will eventually lose it. Accepting the personality of Christ, and following Him, with all the challenges of the way, is the way to getting to know God more. The word of God is the highest manifestation of Him. He spoke and everything as we know it (and as we are still discovering it) became existent! In the present, He speaks and the courses of events and things are changed. He will yet speak, and many things would become just as HE would speak. However, have we ever found ourselves in a place where we consider that God’s words are rather hateful, hurtful, haunting and hindering? Many times it is everything besides what we would imagine Him uttering. Why would God speak what we regard as negative (to His work and world) to us? What kind of God is that? Does He take pleasure in seeing evil things happen? Deuteronomy 32 : 4 Moses puts a vote of confidence on God, just after He was denied access to His life dream, and just before prophesying that Israel will rebel (Deut. 31 :14) Job 40 : 19, 26 : 14 Even in depths of afflictions, Job declared all God’s mighty deeds as a whisper of Him, regarding the mightiest in stature as the beginning of His ways. Why is God like this? Psalm 145 : 17 David, despite all his splendor and deep sufferings and persecution will regard God as righteous. What manner of understanding do these people have of God that has made their experiences almost inconsequential in relating with God? Isaiah 55 : 8 Simply put, God thoughts differently and so His words are different His ways are uncommon The center of God’s uniqueness is His thoughts. He reason things in a manner that is far from ours. Therefore, when He speaks and acts, He is least understood. One thing is sure; His thoughts are good, not of evil to bring us to an expected end. He chooses to: Conquer evil with good; Redeem the dying by death; Make rich by taking away; Increase by reducing; Communicate His wisdom through humble; Give authority to the enemy to reign for a season; Allow the saints to be killed and the sinners to be saved; etc. His thought simply hovers around His eternal counsel, which is to see this world filled with the fulfillment of His word. So, when next you think some things happening in the world is why His glory hasn’t filled the earth yet; you are unaware that the earth is already filled with His glory as the waters cover the sea because He spoke them to be as they are! Even every evil you see is declaring His glory. Both the righteous and the wicked will declare His glory. Revelations 15 : 3 - 4 The deposing of Kings and the exaltation of another (even the wicked ones) are simply manifesting the glory of God. Whether we like it or not, the earth is filled with the knowledge of His glory (fulfilled words) as the waters cover the sea. We must learn to acknowledge God’s sovereignty in all that we see and experience. All things will be as He has declared them, not as we have desired them. Peace to the righteous.
