SERVE WITH JOY Ephesians 4:11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. [NLT] I did show you in days earlier how God programmed His pattern for Kingdom advancement. He gave gifts to the Church, and these are Apostles, Evangelists, Pastors etc. Understand therefore that your Pastor is a gift unto you from God. Reading from the New Living Translation, it says their responsibility is to equip Gods people to do His work and build up the Church. Being born again - born of the Spirit and of His Word, God wants you to do His work and build up the Church. He wants you to do works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up [verse 12 in the NIV]. God doesnt want you to be a spectator in the work of building His Church, He wants you to be a participator. I am glad that there are various departments and units in your Church; join one of them and begin to serve. Join Ushering, Decor, Home Visitations, Praise and Worship, Venue, Welfare, Filming etc. Evangelism and Intercession are for all of us, dont leave it to whoever has been appointed leader of these groups in your Church. Bring in your expertise into the Kingdom and serve God with it. Be found to be actively involved in the work of the ministry. God is counting on you for the advancement of His Kingdom on earth. And as you serve, serve joyfully! Yes! Ministry is a joy. Dont always complain that you are the only one coming in the morning to do Decor or intercede for the service. Never get tired or weary of doing good, continue serving God with meekness, humility and joy! Its a joy to serve Him. Remember you are doing it for God and not men. He will reward you. Immediately identify a department in your Church and begin to serve. You will find untold fulfillment. You will discover how exciting Church is!
