SEVEN LIES ABOUT LIFE (PART SIX) DONATION NOT DURATION Just finished reading the obsequies of a young man of forty-four years of age.My heart was deluged with empathy not only for the demise; but a question kept cascading my mind what if i were that young man, what would i be remembered for? What donation would i be acknowledge with despite short sojourn on earth? Life is a lot like the game of tennis, those who dont serve will end up loosing. Life is not measured by ones Duration, afterall much people live long with less or no iota of contribution to life. The ultimate measurement of life is in ones Donation to life. Impact and great feat are not matters of how long one has sojourned lifes path but on how much one is willing to give or one has given into life. A story of a Man whose birth was fore-told many years before his conception. His birth was accompanied by myriad of controversies,he was sought after to be killed by the Head of States yet he survived. His growing up was filled with zest and vigour waxing strong with wit and grace. He devoted all the prime of his life serving others, inflating the whole world with his teaching of love which was accompanied by supernatural works. He propagated the maxim of loving your neighbour(s) as you love yourself. He had no excesses on materialism. He was killed by vicious men who opposed his teaching at the prime age of 33 years. He Donated much to life than anyone who ever lived and will ever live. His teachings grew stronger even after his death, owing to over 70 percent of the worlds population. He sojourned for only 33 years yet his name is on the lips of all CHRISTIANS over the world.. What an immense DONATION TO LIFE Synopsis of OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care- THEODORE ROOSEVELT Its obvious to know that the extent to which people know how much which you know is never revealed until you can utterly reciprocate that which you know. Our souls is nourished when you are kind;it is destroyed when you are cruel- say the book of Proverbs Think about the questions you will be asked at the close of life on earth. NATHAN SCHAEFFER admonished The question will not be, how much have you got? But how much have you given? Not how much have you won? But how much have you done Not how much have you saved But How much have you sacrificed? It will be How much have you loved and served? Not How much were you honoured The greatest curse of human race is selfishness; everyone seeks for self interest rather than collective interest. The pronouns I and MY have become the language of the world instead of WE and OUR , fostering chaos, strife and envy among brothers, friends, communities and the world. An excerpt COLD WITHIN Six humans trapped by happenstance in black and bitter cold Each one possessed a stick of wood or so the storys told Their dying fire in need of logs the first woman held hers back for of the faces around the fire she noticed one was black The next man looking cross the way Saw one not of his church and couldnt bring himself to give the fire his stick of birch The third man sat in tattered clothes; He gave his coat a hitch why should his log be put to use To warm the idle rich The rich man just sat back and thought of the wealth he had in store and how to keep what he had earned from the lazy, shiftless poor The black mans face bespoke revenge As the fire passed from his sight For all he saw in the stick of wood was a chance to spite the white And the last man of this forlorn group Did naught except for gain Giving only to those who gave Was how he played the game The logs held tight in deaths stilled hands was proof of human sin they didnt die from the cold without They died from the cold within The measure of life is not in its duration, but in its donation.Everyone can be great because everyone can serve - PETER MARSHALL to be continued...... emmanuelned.wordpress
