SFCC enrolling now for fall classes SEDALIA—Enrollment at State Fair Community College is underway for the fall A minimester session will run from July 31 to Aug. 13 before the regular fall semester starts. Minimester classes offer students a chance to take full-term classes in a short amount of time. The last day to enroll in minimester classes is July 24. Four minimester classes will be offered on the Sedalia campus and five online. The on-ground classes include Introduction to Chemistry with Lab, Introduction to the Field of Education, Introduction to Physical Education in the Elementary School, and Public Speaking. Online classes offered are Introduction to the Field of Education, Music Appreciation, Public Speaking, College Skills, and Women and Health. The regular fall semester will begin Aug. 18 in Sedalia, Boonville, Clinton, Eldon, Lake of the Ozarks, Warsaw, Whiteman Air Force Base, and online. Prospective students may apply online at sfccmo.edu/admissions, email [email protected] to schedule an appointment or go to the Student Services Office in the Hopkins Center on the Sedalia campus or to any extended campus site. This fall SFCC will offer several new programs: two Associate of Applied Science (AAS) agriculture degrees, one AAS degree in Computer and Network Administration and two computer-related Skills Certificates. SFCC offers three transfer degrees—Associate of Arts, Associate of Arts in Teaching and Associate of Science—plus 34 AAS degrees ranging from accounting to renewable energy technology. Students also can choose from more than 20 skills or 12 professional certificate programs that can lead to quick employment. SFCC has agreements with four-year schools that ensure earned credits will transfer to those institutions. The college also has specific agreements with Central Methodist University (CMU) to provide bachelor’s degree programs at Sedalia, Clinton, Lake of the Ozarks, and online; with Drury University for on-ground and online programs; and with the University of Central Missouri (UCM) and the University of Missouri.
