*SHARE* **FORECAST UPDATE** As it stands now this is what we know... and like everything, this is subject to change. Based on recent trends and current model analysis, 1 foot of snow is looking definite and 2 FEET of snow is looking increasingly likely for NYC, CT, and Long Island. That being said, some local areas maybe easily receive higher numbers, approaching 3 FEET. This powdery snow combined with winds sustained at 35 mph and gusting at times to 65 mph across EASTERN Long Island will create near impossible and very dangerous travel conditions and snow drifts in excess of 5 FEET. At times conditions will become life-threatening if you are caught in the storm so now is the time to prepare accordingly. Secondary and tertiary roads may become totally impassable and strong winds will cause power outages, especially across portions of Eastern Long Island. Do NOT underestimate this storm. This is a dangerous storm and if not taken seriously, it could become a deadly situation. NOW is the time to prepare. Stock up on non-perishable food items, flashlights, candles, batteries, gasoline, blankets, salt, shovels, water, and whatever else you need to stay safe during this historic blizzard. All unnecessary travel is discouraged after Monday afternoon to allow for people that are already on the road to reach their destinations safely before the onset of the heaviest snow. If you get stuck in the snow make sure you have a winter survival kit with you in your car, and stay with your vehicle. Again this is a very serious situation. Ill have more updates as we go throughout the evening/overnight.
