Jay Nixon spoke at Lincoln Prep, recognizing its recent nationally acclaimed student achievement however (OUR LEGACY) 12 students (many of them members of Lincoln Prep Tiger Debate) stood, peacefully put their hands up in an action that signifies the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” slogan for the demonstrations in Ferguson, and were escorted out after refusing to sit. They have subsequently been threatened with disciplinary action, including but not limited to suspension. This is unnacceptable and we must act. Before edifying themselves, these 14-18 year olds thought of Mike Brown and the RIGHT he had to live. This was probably the ONLY opportunity they had to let the Governor hear their voice. Tomorrow (11/21) and next week (11/24-25) starting at 7:20am, PLEASE stand with us and defend their RIGHT to protest. CALL AND EMAIL Principal Joseph Hesman and Superintendent R. Stephen Green and insist that these students see NO TIME out of class. The only person that should be held responsible for ANY of this- is Darren Wilson.
