Chongqing (重庆), also spelled Chungking, is one of the most famous cities in China and capital of a provincial Muncipality by the same name. Chongqing city is the launching point for boat trips down the Yangtze River through the Three Gorges Dam. Two hours west of the city in Chongqing municipality are located the spectacular Buddhist Dazu Rock Carvings. Understand With a population of 29.19 million Chongqing City is one of four municipalities in China, large cities that are not part of a province but report directly to the national government; it is the only one not on the east coast. Neighbours: Hubei (east), Hunan (east), Guizhou (south), Sichuan (west), Shaanxi (north) Located on the edge of the Yungui Plateau, Chongqing is intersected by the Jialing River and the upper reaches of the Yangtze. It contains Daba Shan in the north, Wu Shan in the east, Wuling Shan in the southeast, and Dalou Mountain to the south. While on the surface there may appear to be not much to do, further investigation will uncover a city with its own character and a number of interesting sites worth looking into. Chongqing served as the capital of China for 7 years during the later 1930s and early 1940s. With this political history comes a number of historic sights which are worth visiting. Chongqing is also the largest city in the West China and is the focus of Chinas Go West strategy to develop the western part of China. As such, it is a very lively and rapidly modernizing city, although it may get a little hectic. Chongqing Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street (Jiefangbei Shangye Buxingjie) Jiefangbei stands in the most prosperous downtown of Chongqing. Jiefangbei, or the Peoples Liberation Monument, formerly known as the Monument of Victory in the War of Resistance, is a 27.5 meter highs structure. It is the Center of the city marked as Chongqings commercial heart. It is isolated by broad, paved pedestrian square and glassy offices. The shopping square, completed at the end of 1997, is 400 meters from east to west, and 350 meters from north to south, covering an area of 24,400 square meters. Around the square are more than 3,000 stores and shops of various kinds, with two dozen large malls and shopping centers, a dozen star-grade hotels, and over 300 establishments and offices such as banks, stock markets, postal and telecommunication services and places for entertainment. Great Hall of the People Chongqings Great Hall of the People (and the Peoples Square in front of the Hall) is an architectural symbol of Chongqing city. Its construction began in 1951, but its design is traditional and mirrors those of Chinas ancient classical dynasties. It somewhat resembles an enlarged version of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. The Peoples Square was only completed in 1997 and is decorated with trees and flowers. The ground of the square is paved with smooth marble tiles; there is magic music fountain; at the southern end of the square stands a stage for performances in the open air. You may see thousands of people dancing on the square in the numerous beautiful lights in the evening............................................................ Theheart quivers with excitement. The soul of the poetess glows with happiness Like the sun is shining over the City of Sydneytoday. The body shakes Trembling! Suddenly, I became, Tango! I move, My heart throbs with a persistent rhythm My soul cries of passion. As the bandoneón moans of love, in a corner ... .Who knows where? Who knows of his pain? Dying of passion, Crying the dance of love. Tango! The poetess is happy As seagulls, Spreading their wings, Freely flying through the blue skies. From Sydney to China…. Mundial de la Poesía Yearbook 2013 En mis manos Lucina Medina de Barry Una breve lectura…… Chongqing (重庆), también deletreado Chungking, es uno de las ciudades más famosas de China y capital de una Municipalidad provincial del mismo nombre. La ciudad de Chongqing es el punto de partida para excursiones en barco por el río Yangtze a través de la presa de las Tres Gargantas. Dos horas al Oeste de la ciudad en la municipalidad de Chongqing se encuentran los espectaculares budistas Esculturas rupestres de Dazu. Con una población de 29.190.000 Chongqing es una de las ciudades más grandes en China, y es uno de los cuatro municipios que no son parte de una provincia, pero dependen directamente del gobierno nacional; es el único que no en la costa Este. Vecinos: Hubei (Este), Hunan (Este), Guizhou (Sur), Sichuan (Oeste), Shaanxi (Norte) Situado en el borde de la meseta de Yungui, Chongqing se cruza con el Río Jialing y el curso superior del Yangtse. Contiene Daba Shan en el Norte, Wu Shan, en el Este, Wuling Shan en el Sureste, y Dalou Montaña al Sur. Mientras que en la superficie no puede parecer que no hay mucho que hacer, más investigación destapará una ciudad con su propio carácter y una serie de sitios interesantes vale la pena analizar. Chongqing Jiefangbei la calle peatonal (Jiefangbei Shangye Buxingjie) Jiefangbei se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad más próspera de Chongqing. Jiefangbei, o Monumento de Liberación Popular, anteriormente conocido como el Monumento de la victoria en la Guerra de Resistencia, es una estructura de máximos 27,5 metros. Es el centro de la ciudad marcado como el corazón comercial de Chongqing. Se está aislado por una amplia plaza peatonal pavimentada y oficinas vidriosos. La plaza comercial, concluida a finales de 1997, es de 400 metros de este a oeste y 350 metros de norte a sur, con una superficie de 24.400 metros cuadrados. Alrededor de la plaza se encuentran más de 3.000 tiendas y tiendas de diversos tipos, con dos docenas de grandes centros comerciales y centros comerciales, una docena de hoteles estrella-grado, y más 300 establecimientos y oficinas, como los bancos, los mercados de valores, servicios de correos y telecomunicaciones y lugares de entretenimiento. Gran Salón del Pueblo De Chongqing Gran Palacio del Pueblo (y la Plaza del Pueblo frente a la Hall) es un símbolo arquitectónico de la ciudad de Chongqing. Su construcción se inició en 1951, pero su diseño es tradicional y refleja las de antiguas dinastías clásicas de China. Se parece un poco a una versión ampliada del Templo del Cielo en Beijing. La Plaza del Pueblo sólo se completó en 1997 y está decorado con árboles y flores. El suelo de la plaza está pavimentada con baldosas de mármol liso; no hay fuente de música mágica; en el extremo sur de la plaza se encuentra un escenario para actuaciones al aire libre.
