SHARING: TIP: SUNRISE AND SUNSET SHOOTS (may be helpful for beginners) Just to be be explicit and my personal view only, based on my limited experience My purpose for these 2 timeframe shoots is not to shoot the sun rise or set but to get the eruptions of colours and clouds and if lucky ( a bonus) with sunrays. SUNRISE What this means is that for SUNRISE be at your location at least 1 hour BEFORE the SUN RISES as the vibrant colours normally occur within that hour. There is setup time, locating the correct spot, composition etc assuming lenses/filters cleaned prior TIP: For Sunrise be there shooting 1 hour BEFORE the sun rises. SUNSET Although I am at my location WITHIN the hour of sunset, I find the sun too strong even with filters and spend time locating a spot for AFTER the sun sets is when I find the vibrant skies occurring. I have seen many photographers leaver a few minutes after sunset only to miss the amazing colours in the sky. TIP: For Sunset be there shooting 1 hour AFTER the sun sets. ESSENTIAL ITEMS (sunset & sunrise): Tripod, shutter release of some sort, filters would help but use bracketing ie a minimum of 3 shots eg -1,0,+1 or -2, - , +2 and you can use blending in your editing software. There is a small window ie 15-20 min and the colours fade quickly be quick in capturing as much as possible. As in my previous tip, I get a full 180 degree in VERTICAL/PORTRAIT mode all of the time . Remember for PANOs do not use Auto White Balance and shoot in Manual. Hope this helps
