SHOCKING : Media attention needed The Maharashtra Human Rights Commission has no Chairman since February 2012. Its last Chairman Justice Kshitij R.Vyas retired on 22 Feb 2012. Since then the Maharashtra Government has not appointed anyone as a Chairman. More serious thing is the commission has no Members also. The last retired Member was Justice V.G.Munshi (retired on 19.02.2012). I have pleaded before Justice Munshi in 2002 Bhiwandi riots case. Now the situations is- more than 10000 cases of Human rights violations are pending at the Commission. It is the duty of Maharsahtra Government, Chief Minister and Dy. Chief Minister to appoint the Chairman and members of the Human Rights commission. All opposition political parties are also not concerned to raise this important issue.
