SICAB 2014 this time the adventure started on the way there, when I had to reverse a very small street in Serpathe the street became so small the car couldnt go farther. Arriving at Sicab we still had time to see the young horses FEI classes, this horses looked nice balanced and some trained after the training scale, so happy we made it to this class. The conformation classes surprised us not only did the PRE grow over 1.70m but also had more then 200 kg over weight. Sadly this nice elastic horses had lost the elasticity and flexibility we know of the breed. There was one which still had a good back leg and showed some grace. ( YACO DE TORRELUNA) he became CAMPEÓN of Sicab. In the riding classes we saw all different styles from backseat drivers to beautiful seats, correct and incorrect aids harmony and over-flexing. In the Doma Vaquera some very nice and strong horses like last year, the costumes from Alta Escuela are always impressive. Interesting was talking to the breeders and asking them about the size of the horses and if there have smaller ones at home, all of them do and said there only bring the big horses to Sicab because thats what the conformation judges like to see. Isnt the Iberian horse we like the flexible, powerful, elastic, supple horse we in a smaller packages. If we like to ride bigger horses isnt the warmblood more suitable? This Year the show was super we loved to see Lorenzo, every time I see him im impressed on his energy and focus. The impressive show with the Garrocha showed me one more time how difficult this is. Every year is Sicab a place for new impressions to see old friends and stay calm when you translate......
