SIERRA COLLEGE DECEMBER UPDATE: Fall 2015 semester: Students can now start applying for admission for Fall 2015. The online admission application is on the website at sierracollege.edu/admissions/future-student/new-student.php New students will actually be able to start registering for classes starting April 28, 2015. Classes themselves begin on August 24. (see attached document for complete list of registration dates). Spring 2015 semester: Registration has already started for the spring semester, with classes due to begin on January 26, 2015. With better class availability than in recent semesters it is an excellent opportunity for any students interested in our academic enrichment program to apply for classes sierracollege.edu/admissions/future-student/academic-enrichment/index.php Sierra College Scholarships: Once again Sierra College is offering a wide range of scholarships for incoming freshman. High School seniors applying for scholarships must have an admission application on file. Apply for admission for the Fall 2015 semester beginning on January 2, 2015. The application is completed online through a student mySierra account. Only one application is required to be completed and we will then match it to the scholarships they may qualify. Student must provide 2 online references and their email addresses, but preferably 3. These references will then be emailed a survey to complete. Further details at sierracollege.edu/student-services/financial-aid/scholarships/index.php Scholarship workshops: These workshops will be offered in January and prospective students are encouraged to attend. They provide advice and guidance on the application process. See attached leaflet. Placement and Assessment: An online placement tool has been developed as a resource to help determine if an incoming student to Sierra College are required to take the college placement exam. It is being used to place students based on high school grades and overall GPA. This tool is certainly not designed as a replacement for meeting with a college counselor. It is available for all incoming freshman to assist with English and Math placement. Prospective students can access the tool at sierracollege.edu/admissions/assessment/appointment.php and determine placement. Once they apply for admission to the school they should submit the appropriate high school transcript.
