PLEASE READ & SIGN THE PETITION TO HELP COLD WAR REGIMENTAL ARMORED CAVALRY BORDER VETERANS FINALLY GET THE RECOGNITION THEY HAVE EARNED...THIS IS IMPORTANT One of My Cold War Veteran Brothers is Working Very Hard to get Cold War Border Veterans the recognition of the Country we served and sacrificed for guarding the Frontiers of Freedom in the European 5 Kilometer Border Zone (Similar to the DMZ in Korea) against the Aggressions of the Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact Countries that has been almost completely been ignored by our leaders and history. Despite Meeting ALL The Requirements and Citing COSTS Congress & The Pentagon has CONTINUOUSLY Failed to Act to Authorize either the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal or the National Defense Service Medal for the Regimental Armored Cavalry Border Veterans who helped secure a very often tense line of defense between Western Europe and the Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact Countries that eventually lead to the collapse of Soviet Communist Socialism and the Freedom of the Eastern European Peoples. American Soldiers are typically humble about our service and often uncomfortable asking for any recognition of the service and sacrifice we willingly gave to our country...many times at the great expense of our families and sometimes even at the cost of lives despite it being a Cold War This is also about REMEMBERING HISTORY and TEACHING CHILDREN. Despite beliefs the Cold War was not always Cold: there were hostile acts, shots fired and Soldiers lost their lives preserving an often very tense peace. Try imagining how it would feel to you...especially in light of renewed Russian Aggressions in Eastern Europe, Georgia and the Ukraine...when we discuss The Cold War with anyone under the age of 25 and they have no idea what we are talking about because history has all but forgotten the men who kept the peace through service, sacrifice and vigilance.
