SLTC is approved to certify veterans for the Montgomery G.I. Bill and Post9/11which pays up to 100% of program cost and housing. The Montgomery G.I. Bill will send payments directly to the veteran and typically it will send around $1,400 per month, as SLTC is a 4-month program it will pay approximately $5,600 towards the cost of the program. If a veteran is 100% eligible with their Post-9/11 benefits, it will pay for the school’s tuition in full, and also give the veteran a housing BAH which will more than cover the cost of housing while the veteran is attending the school. Veterans should visit gibill.gov to complete the 22-1990 forms, and the VA will send you a certificate of eligibility that will need to be sent in along with your application to SLTC. If you are 100% eligible for benefits, SLTC will waive the $750 deposit and you will only need to send in the $100 application fee along with the $200 security deposit for housing (if housing is needed). Once a Post-9/11 veteran has graduated from SLTC and becomes enrolled into an apprenticeship program, you are eligible for VA benefits through the On-the-Job or Apprenticeship Training program. VA will reimburse you at the following rates: 100% for the first 6 months 80% for the next 2 months 60% for the next 2 months 40% for the next 2 months 20% for the next 2 months- up to a year.
