SMALL BALL: You have seen the tv ads touting Cuomo’s gimmicky Start Up NY program whereby hand-selected companies who set up shop on college campuses enjoy tax free status for 10 years. The program costs taxpayers more than $100 mil. per year. SUNY Buffalo is out with its first participants and the job creation numbers are incredibly paltry given the enormous cost to taxpayers: •Aesku Diagnostics plans to hire 50 employees over five years. • Decision Pace plans to hire 43 new employees over five years. •Heads Up Display - 3 new employees. • Lineagen. 8 new employees. •Sinapis Pharma - 2 or 3 three employees initially. Contrast these miniscule job creation numbers with the hundreds and perhaps thousands of jobs killed by Cuomo’s anti-2A Safe Act. Notice the use of the phrase “plan to hire.” Their plans could change and the jobs could never materialize. Meanwhile, the jobs destroyed by Cuomo’s Safe Act are already a reality.
