SMILEY (NL) who is playing finest Reggae, is performing in Kanzlei Club on the 17th of October. SELECTA IRAY from Uppressors Sound outta Lucerne is backing him. On top of that, DJ ENZOUT freshly outta Jamaica and REAL ROCK SOUND are spicing up di dance with great dancehall and reggae tunes before and after the concert. Smiley was born on the Island of Aruba in 1980 and has been making music since the age of seventeen. In 2000 he moved to The Netherlands, where he started touring with the popular Dutch reggae band Out of Many for three years. Then he formed his own band and performed at several festivals and venues in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Aruba from then on. Smiley has been reggae artist Ziggi’s support act on his Dutch and German In Transit tour. In 2008 Smiley travelled to Jamaica to work with great producers and musicians such as Junior Kelly. Their song has been played by the biggest reggae radio station in Jamaica: Irie FM. In 2009 Smiley’s tune “Distance” reached a number 1 position in the Reggaefrance video charts. In 2010, Smiley performed on two very big reggae festivals in Germany: Reggaejam and Ruhr Reggae Summer. He had also a song on three of the best German riddims of 2010 and he made it even on the German Riddim Magazine in February 2011. His new Album “Traffic Light” was released internationally on the 12th of March 2013.
