SO, Ive had my hang-3 rating revoked. Ostensibly because of the crash. I was told that I should take my video down. That posting it would cause problems. But I didnt. After that, there was apparently a concerted effort to get me de-certified. It would appear that crashing is not good. Advertising that crash is justification for retribution. One does wonder how many other incidents there have been, that were never reported. I do note that the USHPA accident data base is private. One cannot even tell whether an accident that one has been involved in has been reported. Quite clearly, if I hadnt posted any of my accidents, the revocation wouldnt have happened. The message for new pilots is, dont post anything negative about your flying. Helping other pilots hurts you. I remember early in my training, someone commented on a mistake Id made. I said, Got a picture? If you dont have a picture, it didnt happen. I thought that was a joke. Ive flown twice at Funston, and both times, was told that my flying was good. Clearly I made a serious mistake. Ive posted that next time I fly at Funston, what I need to do is landing practice. I dont know of any other site like Funston, so its not like I can to that somewhere else. And at 70 years old, flying down to the beach and carrying my glider back up is not an option that Id do voluntarily. Besides which, landing on the beach would be of no value as a learning experience. Have a good day all.
